Scottish airports currently collect Airport Passenger Duty Tax onbehalf of the UK Government. For a basic return flight between London and Edinburgh this equated to £52. In Scottish airports there were over 24 million flights that were liable for APD. Taking this basic APD for all those passengers (Longer ones accumulate a greater amount of APD) it meant that there was a payment of £1.5b paid towards Treasury. Now ask yourself how much of this money came back to Scotland....Its an easy digit to remember........Yes ZERO Now how are we Better Together again? airportwatch.org.uk/?page_id=8484 transportscotland.gov.uk/statistics/j285663-02.htm
