♥ (¯` * •. ¸ ♥ Scout Update! ♥ ¸. • * ¯) ♥ Scout’s has passed through Cuba MO and is headed to St Charles MO. This particular EA grew up in St. Charles MO many, many, many years ago. The most interesting thing about that is my Elementary and Secondary schools are still standing. I haven’t lived there since 1979. On to some real history about St. Charles: In 1804, Lewis and Clark left from Saint Charles to explore new lands from Saint Charles to the Pacific Ocean. During their journey, Lewis and Clark came face-to-face with many wild animals, discovered unknown plants and encountered many Indian cultures. The Lewis and Clark Boat House and Nature Center is a great place to learn more about the path Lewis and Clark took. The gift shop is filled with the unusual Indian artwork they found during their travels. St. Charles was Missouris first state capitol between 1821 and 1826, while a permanent capitol city was in the planning and development stages in Jefferson City. The Federal-style brick complex was restored between 1961 and 1971, and features 11 rooms that take you back to the time when Missouri joined the Union.
