Scraps’ Issue Brewing More Trouble In Nimba’s Legislative Caucus Cogent reports reaching this paper’s news desk indicates that confusion is brewing continuously in the Nimba County Legislative Caucus due to the anticipated sale of huge quantity of scraps; coupled with the removal of the county’s Senior Senator, Prince Yormie Johnson as political leader of his party (NUDP). Our investigation unearthed that the cost scraps are valued over $US1.5 Million, and each lawmaker of Nimba County will reportedly receive over US$100,000.00 after the transaction. But Senator Johnson admitted to the investigation saying that his latest political rival, Representative Ricks Y. Toweh has allegedly negotiated with one of his (Toweh’s) Ghanaian clients, whose name is upheld, to purchase the huge pile of scraps. According to him, some of his legislative colleagues are allegedly eager to receive the mentioned amount and do not want to seek the interest of the county. He claimed that the Liberian leader after series of negotiations agreed that the scraps should benefit the county and its people. Senator Johnson challenged his political rivals who want to contest the pending special senatorial elections in 2014 not to fool themselves, simply because they( fellow legislators from the Lower house who want to contest for the county’s Senatorial seat in 2014) cannot beat him. He claimed that vast majority of the people of Nimba County are willing to re-elect him in the upcoming elections. It can be recalled that Senator Johnson accused Representatives Jeremiah Koon and Richard M. Tingban of allegedly planning to contest the upcoming elections.
