Screen India : Shahid Kapoor is not a scamster Shahid Kapoor will be seen in an action avatar yet again, but he won’t be playing the role of a scamster in his next venture with the Go Goa Gone director duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K, as a few reports had confirmed earlier. While it was said that Kapoor will don the hat of a white-collared conman in a film titled Fake, where he commits a few frauds in the country, it is now confirmed that the main subject of the film has been altered. Instead of a crime- chase story, the film is now an action- thriller. The actor has verbally agreed to this untitled project. Talking about the development, Nidimoru said, “All the reports that came out earlier were just premature ideas. It is true that we were toying with the idea of having our lead play the scamster, but we have changed the subject. It is not a con-man’s story, nor will Shahid be seen playing a scamster. The film is now an out-of-the- box action thriller, that will cater to the commercial audience. We met Shahid and he liked the idea. We love experimenting with genres, and are looking forward to making this project an unique one.” Since the duo are currently focusing on completing the Saif Ali Khan starrer Happy Ending, Nidimoru mentioned that they are adding a few finishing touches to the script and will try to zero in on the rest of the cast in a few months. If all goes well, the film should be ready to go on the floors by the end of this year. The location for the first schedule has not been locked yet.
