Screening Friday evening, December. 5th at 8:00pm, our Spotlight Film, The 50 Year Argument by Martin Scorsese and David Tedeschi, We are honored to announce that Jason Epstein, co-founder of the New York Review of Books, will be joining us to discuss the film. The film is about the history and influence of the New York Review of Books and delves into the journals eventful 50 years, from its emergence during the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s through to the Arab Spring uprisings in Egypt, Libya and Syria. It slides fluidly between handsomely shot contemporary interviews and well-curated retro footage. The 50 Year Argument captures the power of ideas in shaping history and documents that extraordinary process. Interviews with Norman Mailer, Joan Didion, Noam Chomsky, James Baldwin, Susan Sontag, Robert Silvers and more.
