Scripture of the day: "The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and whoever captures souls is wise." (Proverbs 11:30) Sometimes people wonder why I do what I do. Sometimes I wonder why I do what I do. To date, I have spent 8 years in theological education and I am planning on spending another 5-6 to get my PhD. Why? Most people who spend 10+ years in school are doing so to earn a great living. Why spend more than a decade in theological education? The answer for me, at least part of it, is found in the Scripture listed above. I have been studying Evangelism now for 3 years and this is what my focus will be in my PhD. Why? Because the Bible says that whoever captures souls in wise! Have you ever lead a person to Jesus? Have you ever had the joy of winning a soul to Christ? Friends, nothing in this world is more exciting than being used by God to usher in another soul into His Kingdom. This is why I study evangelism...this is why I am at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, because I desire to see people come to Christ. Have you made that decision to follow Him?
