Seaham Red Star U18 6 v 0 Newton Aycliffe U18 Seaham made it 6 points in a week with an easy win against lowly opposition, Newton Aycliffe. With three key players away for Seaham, several players got the opportunity to impress the management and stake their claim for a starting place. Seaham began really well and dominated the game for the first 15 minutes scoring twice with central midfielder, Josh Archibald getting a brace, the first from a near post header from a Dan Ward corner, then finishing off a great move involving Nathan Lawrence and a pull back by Aidan Heywood. Seaham dropped off the pace after that and let their opponents off the hook to an extent, although they were in complete control. In the 2nd half, Seaham added to their lead with substitute Dominic Soulsby being played in by Aidan Heywood. Soulsby outpaced the defence and calmly rounded the Aycliffe keeper to shepherd the ball into the empty net. Seaham added a 4th when a header competed for by Brad Oliver, was headed in by the Aycliffe centre back. Aycliffe rarely had the ball such was Seahams complete dominance but keeper Curtis Richardson had to be alert to keep out one of the few chances they created. Red Stars 5th was scored by Jordan Mole, who had the beating of his full back with his pace all game, when he collected the ball on the right side, drove into the penalty area and hammered a low shot into the far corner of the net. Seaham werent finished and added their 6th late in the game when Aidan Heywoods diving header could only be parried into the net by the Aycliffe keeper, who, despite the scoreline, was the pick of the opposition players. An easy, comfortable win for Seaham against opposition who offered very little throughout. Team: Curtis Richardson, Jonny Corner, Ben Hall, Nathan Lawrence, Adam Wrightson (Dominic Soulsby), Josh Archibald, Tony Fox (Josh Houghton), Aidan Heywood, Dan Ward, Brad Oliver (David Stansfield), Jordan Mole Sub not used: James Lone
