Season Update: Summer 362 The weather is warm, trade is booming, and there have been no further reports of raids by Silverstar’s mind-slave on outlying farms. Summer is off to a good start. Or at least, mostly. The other two forts, East Watch and River Watch, have been reporting seeing more and more Silverstar scouts in the area, and the occasional Serpentman. No one has heard from the Serpentmen since Turissi, their Ambassador in Whitmouth, died four years ago, and many are worried at what they have been up to all this time. Westguard reports that a group of adventurers aided the Formian Hive in fending off Silverstar’s troops and Silverstar’s presence in the area has dropped off sharply. Only a few lone scouts have been spotted by Patrol Riders. However, they warn that the number of dead mind-slaves on the battlefield is alarming, and Silverstar no doubt has larger armies elsewhere on the continent. There have been some odd occurences in the shipping lane. A huge spire of rock has appeared out of nowhere, and three merchant ships almost ran aground on it. The Governor has approved the building of a small lighthouse atop it to prevent further incidents. Until it is completed, ships are advised to sail slightly to the right or left of the standard shipping passage between Whitmouth and the Great Library. Recently, everyone in the city who was attuned to magic reported feeling a wave of power roll over the city, and not long after a group of adventurers reported that Silverstar’s attempts to get his hands on a second trident were foiled, but the trident was destroyed in the process. We at the Whitmouth Times hope that this has no unexpected and unpleasant effects. A third group of adventurers returned with tales of an ale so strong that a single drop could knock out a human and a tower the size of a thimble which contained talking instruments and a room full of diamonds. Some of us here at the Whitmouth Times think that the second tale was a product of the first, if you know what we mean.
