Seasonal Message to the People of Zimbabwe from Simba Makoni 20 December 2014 Dear Fellow Zimbabweans, Christmas is normally a time of joy, when families, social groups, faith congregations and many other collectives of like-minded people, come together to celebrate their faith, their achievements of the past year and plan for the coming year. New Year is also a time to ignite new hope, aspiration and resolution to better lives. For decades, the people of Zimbabwe have had no reason to celebrate, and little to look forward to, in the year ahead. As in previous years, 2014 has been characterised by continued fear and insecurity, and deepening hardships for the largest majority of citizens. As we wind down 2014, and usher in 2015, I urge us all to rededicate ourselves to bring change to our lives, as families, communities and as a nation. Let’s Get Zimbabwe working Again. KaOne But do not lose hope, for the first time, the future holds the promise of a brighter tomorrow. We start 2015 with vigour, for it is our year that together as Zimbaweans should put our heads together and decide our destiny as we reenergise our party for a party that stands for all Zimbabweans, a government that has as its priority the building of a better life for all, bringing jobs, security and, above all, peace. The challenge before all of us is to re- build the non-discriminatory and democratic Zimbabwe of our dreams.
