Officers Arrest Driver following Fatal Crash on State Street last week. From the #BPDWatchLog: Boise Police have arrested the driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal collision on State Street last Thursday night, October 16th. Ersan Lukovac, 22, of Boise is charged with Vehicular Manslaughter. Hes accused of driving his vehicle in a reckless manner at State Street and Veterans Memorial Parkway by what witnesses describe as tailgating, driving fast and making an illegal turn in the intersection. At State and Ellens Ferry, officers found evidence Lukovac was driving his vehicle west bound in the east bound traffic lane. Lukovacs vehicle, a 2010 Kia, then collided with a Hyundai Sonata driven by Susan K. Wymer, 70 of Boise. Wymer had to be extricated from her vehicle. She sustained serious injuries and was later pronounced deceased at St Alphonsus Hospital. Lukovac was also injured in the crash. He was arrested by officers upon his release from Saint Alphonsus Hospital today. Susan K. Wymer, 70 of Boise died of her injuries in a collision that remains under investigation. ----------------------------- Boise, Oct 17, 2014 - Boise Police were called at 7:33 last night to a collision involving three cars on West State Street and West Ellens Ferry Drive. Sadly, one of the drivers involved, a 70 year old woman from Boise, has died as a result of her injuries. What Happened: When officers arrived, they found three vehicles involved in the crash, a black 2-door Kia, a gold 4-door Hyundai sedan and a Suburban SUV. Witnesses tell officers prior to the collision the driver of the Kia, who was headed westbound on State Street, was swerving, speeding and driving into oncoming traffic. The Kia collided with the Hyundai, then the SUV, both in the eastbound lanes of State Street at Ellens Ferry. Several people witnessed the crash and stopped to help and call 911. Those witnesses also stayed to give officers their best report of what they saw which will be a great help as investigators piece together just how and why this tragic crash occurred. said Captain Eugene Smith of the Boise Police Patrol Division. Injuries: The driver of the Hyundai, the woman from Boise, was taken to the hospital where she later died. The driver of the black Kia, a 22 year old man from Boise, was thrown from the vehicle upon impact and found lying in the roadway. He suffered serious injuries and remains hospitalized. The passenger in the Kia, a 19 year old woman from Meridian were also transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver and two passengers of the SUV was not injured. The Investigation: Due to the seriousness of the collision, the Boise Police Crash Reconstruction Team was called to the scene. At this time, the collision remains under investigation. ###
