Second Chance at Life My wife and I own an antique store - TopicsExpress

Second Chance at Life My wife and I own an antique store on Main Street in Blanchard, LA. Sometime ago while the front door was open a small, beautiful hummingbird got in. Since the ceilings are fifteen feet tall we tried, to no avail , to catch it. We decided to hang up a hummingbird feeder, just in case we were able to feed it. I never saw the bird use it and pretty much forgot about it being in the store. One day, I was walking down the aisle and I saw its lifeless body hanging on a curtain. I reached up, took it in my hand and was amazed at how small its features were. Its not very often you get a chance to hold one of Gods creations in your hand. It was not moving in any way. While I was looking at it, my wife went and got a eye dropper and sugared water. She started force feeding and stroking its body. After several minutes, it moved. We realized, that it was still alive. We continued to feed and rub its body until it started looking more alive all the time. We sat it on top of a file cabinet with the sugar water still close by. After about thirty minutes, it started flapping its wings. We were overjoyed to know that we were responsible for saving its life. We finally put it outside and after a few minutes it flew away. I will never forget our experience with this small creature. Its like God gives us a second chance many times. What a lesson we learned!
