Secondary Announcements for Thursday, May 8: This past weekend, six teams from TISS participated in the International Student Fair held at the Brockville Memorial Centre. The competition involved 20 teams from schools within the Upper Canada District School Board. TISS students Keilantra Tian and Jessica Chen won first place overall with their project on Music, Dance and Art of China. Aude Marie Ackebo won Best from TISS with her project on Foods of the Ivory Coast. Congratulations to all our students on a job well done! TISS will be receiving its first flag. We need your help to design it. To all pirates interested in designing our flag, a criteria list and entry folder may be found outside of Room 106. There is no limit to the number of entries per person however entries are due by Friday May 30th. The Brockville Theater Guild is sponsoring an award for graduating grade 12 students who have been actively involved in live theatre. Applications for this $250 award are available in student services. It is recommended that students submit their application as soon as possible. Developmental Services of Leeds and Grenville is offering a 3 graduation awards ranging from $750 to $1000 for students entering programs in the field of social work, youth services, behavioral psychology, nursing and more, and who have a desire to work with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities. Applications can be found in student services and are due to the agency by June 15th.
