Secondary drowning is a thing. It is a thing that can have you staying up all night, staring at your feverish, coughing toddler while she sleeps, trying to analyze her breathing, her skin color, and her general demeanor so you can determine if in fact you should be concerned that she may be drowning on dry land. Parenthood: taking paranoia to a new level since the dawn of time. ...though I guess everything was at a new level then, huh?
