Secretary Social Welfare Deptt launches ‘Each One, Teach One Day’ programme JAMMU, DECEMBER 11: Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Mohammad Shafi Rather, on Thursday launched Airtel’s ‘Each One, Teach One Day’ programme aimed at to spread Internet Literacy in India. The function was organized by Bharati Airtel, J&K in collaboration with State Social Welfare Board. Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Mohammad Shafi Rather said that Airtel has been playing a commendable role in providing best possible communication services. He exhorted upon them to also work out strategies for ensuring their services to differently abled people who can also contribute towards society’s progress and prosperity in their own way. Chief Operating Officer, Bharati Airtel, J&K Dharmender Khajuria, highlighted the importance of ‘Each One, Teach One Day’ programme. He said that a team of more than 700 Airtel representatives stepped in to spearhead this internet literacy drive across the State. He said Digital literacy can truly play a transformational role in enabling the lives of millions. He further said that ‘Each One, Teach One’ is an initiative from Airtel which will initiate non-users into experiencing the marvels of internet and bring in the enriching change. Secretary, J&K Social Welfare Board, Aamir Ali expressed gratitude to Airtel for having chosen J&K State Board for launching this programme. He hoped that more corporates would join hands with government organizations to increase their outreach. Among others, Director Social Welfare Jammu Mr. M. S. Choudhary, Secretary Pahari Speaking Syed Qazmi, Secretary OBC Mohammad Tanveer, Secretary SC Board, Mr. Sham Lal, Secretary Gujjar and Bakarwal Board Mr. Latif Ahmad Poswal and representatives from Women’s Commission were present on the occasion.
