Secularism: One question always strikes in my mind….. Do we need to pay the premium to any particular community, just to make them behave decently? If this question asked to any single person, irrespective of their cast, creed and social status (provide that he/she is in right frame of mind), answer would be unanimous NO To my mind, a particular community is to have no advantage which another (community) does not have. Minority is to be no justification for privilege and majority is to be no ground for penalty. Muslim represent close to 17% of the total population of India. The other 4 minorities, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists and Parsis. Together they Constitute 5 per cent of the total population of India. I have never heard any party, or organization , representing so seriously and vocally to these 4 minorities (Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists and Parsis), but still they are prosper, and have considerably high contribution of direct and indirect Tax collection, in the Government of India Account .They never complain about their socio-economic status. The tricks of getting vote bank, by clamming themself the well-wisher of Muslim community, I feel hurting the India in two ways 1. It, passively making our Muslim brothers week and dependent upon subsidies (in form of reservation, compensation). 2. It spreading hatred and discontent across religion, and there by destabilizing social and cultural harmony of our country I would sincerely argue that please abandon this habit of gratifying particular community by false promises. Make policies, such that, every individual can grow organically.
