Security Check: Police To Commence Biometric Motor Registration The police have announced plans to commence biometric central motor registration for all vehicles in the country by September 16th. Issues of insecurity have been on the front burner of national discourse leaving government to decide how to ensure that lives and property are protected. Addressing a news conference in Abuja, spokesman for the police, Mr Frank Mba said the biometric central motor registration will assist in reducing crime in the country. Through illustrations, journalists were shown how the biometric motor registry operates. The new innovation according to Mr Mba will help in tracking persons involved in terrorism, robbery and kidnapping. He explained further that the new vehicle registration will serve as a compliment to the activities of the Federal Road Safety Corps in reducing crime, discarding the line of thought that it is a duplication of function. The police spokesman however appealed for the cooperation of all Nigerians in the provision of relevant data to achieve the desired result with the initiative.
