“See You Soon” is the first track in which I recorded the vocals for the demo during one of my crying spells. For those of you who were not aware of this, I had been battling depression for several years. According to the WHO estimates, over 121 million people are afflicted by some form of depression throughout their lives; whereas less than 25% have access to adequate treatment. My battle with depression laid the foundation for the development of this track. Being familiar with the social stigma surrounding depression, I thought my narrative would help in raising the level of awareness concerning this crippling infliction. Being afflicted with depression does not make one weak, it should be treated systematically as any other form of physical ailments - especially when considering the ramifications of it remaining untreated. Beating depression is achievable, no matter how bleak the prospects of recovering your true self may be while being under the influence of the affliction.
