See last post shared by VoteLovatt (Stouffville, Ward 5). Yes, W- Stouffville desperately needs to brain-storm & test ideas corporately & in community. These problems cannot be solved by staff alone. See below: pic a) our employment strategy was by any standards a stunning failure; pic b) the strategy to attract knowledge-based industry was the right one, but *council* sent all the wrong signals--e.g., lowest library funding in prov. for towns our size; no cultural plan; tech/social-media-phobic; no to univ. satellite campus; consequently pic c) our tax base has become one of the least diverse in the province (88.4% residential--worse than in 2010; prov. avg. ca. 79%). Its time for a new strategy. Iain Lovatts post shows how break-throughs can happen.
