See the video sent to us from the YWAM Kharua Kalan Childrens Home in India saying THANK YOU We were able to pay for the children to eat for a whole year, thanks to funds raised from Sari Saturday 2013. These children are from a people group known as the Banchharas (population 17,000). Banchhara women are divided into two categories. This division is socially sanctioned and religiously follows division of labour. The elder daughters are reserved for prostitution (and are initiated at the age of 12) while the younger ones are allowed to marry. The daughters who marry in turn follow this custom with their daughters, and the vicious circle gets repeated, thus perpetuating this custom. YWAM Kharua Kalan is working to break this cycle. Before and After report - Before they were having 1 kg dal per meal. Now they are getting 3 kg per meal. - The rice quality and quantity has improved. The kids are now allowed second helpings if they want it. - Chicken was being given once a week but now they are getting more of it. - There is no egg money in the budget. Now they are given eggs twice a week. - Milk is given in their chai. Now the chai is more milky. - They are giving more subji (vegetables). Onion, potato, garlic are more also. - The quality of the oil being used in cooking has improved. - The masalas (spices) and sugar are of a better quality now. Thank you so much for your donation to help feed and bless these children!
