Seeing Merle Haggard last night and hearing his music really did something to me. Hearing him made me think of my Aunt Sara, with whom I love so much! I can see her now, sitting on the couch playing her 1960s acoustic guitar, smiling, closing her eyes and singing some Merle. Merle is her favorite singer. They share the same bithday. Now, she sits in a nursing home due to having strokes. Then, I started thinking about my Mamaw Jane. The woman who raised me. The woman who taught me about God, how to sew, made my clothes and how to make mud pies. Now, she sits in a nursing home, thinking that she works there or that she is living in a school. She doesnt even know my kids names anymore. Why do bad things happen to good people. My heart is broke. People think that because I am Melissa Earnest I am supposed to be funny all of the timing, smiling, etc. I hurt and am human just like anyone else. I really need your prayers today! Thank you!
