Seeing homecoming pictures come across my newsfeed and I must say that Im torn. Traditional me thinks that this is still a semi formal event that concludes a week of school spirit and has standards. Now, I understand not everyone is asked to the dance and kids go as a group, thus ensuring everyone feels welcome and a part of it. I just dont think that parents give a rats behind on how their kids are dressing. Half the ladies are dressed with some modesty, dresses that come just above the knee and cover the necessities up top. Then there is the other half, booties barely covered skin tight dresses with heels that are not really appropriate. Parents actually let their daughters out of the house like that? If my sons date was dressed like that upon pick up....we would surely be concerned and we would become instant chaperones. School sanctioned events need to have dress codes enforced. This is not a time for girls to be dressing like they are going clubbing and looking to hook up. There are some postings of very beautiful young ladies dressed more traditionally and are very classy. Parents please wake up and take a stand! And schools....why do you accept this?
