Seeing the obvious is a matter of common sense, not intelligence. Which is why many, including smart people, sometimes fail to see the obvious. EXAMPLES: Thomas J. Watson, founder & 1st President of IBM, (1874-1956): "There is a world market for about 5 computers". Harry M. Warner, founder Warner Bros Studio, said in 1927: "Who would want to hear actors talk?" Octave Chanute, French aviation pioneer, (1832-1910): "The flying machines will eventually be fast; they will be used for sport, but they should not be thought of as commercial carriers". William Thomson, Lord Kelvin (1824-1907), English Scientist, President of the Royal Society: "Radio has no future... X-rays will prove to be a hoax..."
