Seeing the post about Currawongs stealing the cream from milk bottles reminded me of this hideous little item. I dont know how widely they were used but on the Central Coast in the 70s milk was delivered in 1 litre plastic bags they called satchels. We were all issued with blue plastic jugs that you slipped the satchel into. You then snipped off the front corner with scissors and poured away. More often than not the satchel would fall out of the jug and milk would go everywhere. They were universally hated in my area.
