Seeing this old Rock City barn was one of the visual highlights of driving to (or from) Louisville the old Bardstown road way. I happened to drive past recently when someone was removing wood from the mural side. I then saw a handwritten sign which read, free barn wood. I was absolutely stunned. Im not entirely sure of the story behind the complete removal of this old barn, but I do know it has been very upsetting to many. I was recently asked if I had a good shot of the barn I could print on canvas. I decided to dig deep into my photo archive and found these 2 images I shot about 20 years ago when I began to use my first decent SLR film camera. To print, I scanned the original negative and created a new digital file, which I then printed on canvas. This can be done with any negative. I am very pleased with the result.
