Seeking God. A certain man had an overwhelming hunger of God, he - TopicsExpress

Seeking God. A certain man had an overwhelming hunger of God, he wanted to humble his flesh, so he said to himself, I have all things that I want in life: money, food, good health, entertainment etc. But I am lacking one thing: I have a severe hunger of God, I need to know God with all my heart and put my flesh into subjection. So I will go to a mountain and fast and pray for four days and four nights, no food no water. So the man embarked on a journey to a far away mountain where there was no water or food, no river or well or fruit trees nearby. But before he embarked on his journey a thought came which said, How can you spend four days and four nights alone in the far thick forests? What if you are attacked by wild beats, snakes or any other dangerous animal? What if anything happens to you alone there? He was much frightened for a while, nevertheless the drive to know God was much stronger in his heart than the power of death or harm. So he said to himself, If I die I die, but if I live I live. Off he board a bus and went to the area where the mountain was situated. Upon arrival at the mountain, fear was still gripping his heart. But guess what? A still whirlwind passed behind his right feet, it did not move dust or grass on the spot, neither did it move his trousers - but it was a whirlwing he saw with his eyes. He got suprised by this whirlwind and ran away a little distance away, but one thing the man realised which made him stop was overwhelming boldness, peace, and joy that overtook his heart. He became fearless and eager to stay on the mountain forever. So he realised that the whirlwind which passed by his right feet was the presence of God, and he was glad. I tell you, the man abode on the mountain, searching out scriptures and praying to God, not asking for anything, but praising and glorifying God for four days and four nights with no food or water. His vision got blurred, images got magnified in his eyes, an ant appeared to be like an elephant in his sight, his spirit seemed to be parting from the body because of the enomous hunger and thirst he experienced - but God strengthened him. His flesh was weakened, and his spirit got much closer to God. God spoke to him and taught him things pertaining the Kingdom of heaven. From that day onwards, the man saw and experienced the power of seeking God. This man is he who writes to you. So let us get out of our comfort zones and seek God, let us seek Him whilst He is still be found. Glory to God.
