Seems funny… whenever I speak about sin and its penalty or giving (money) the board goes unusually quiet. Less and less people hit the “like” button. Seldom if ever a comment…. In comparison when I speak about receiving a blessing or wealth from God… there is a definite cheering section and much more activity. I have to make an “educated guess” that these two areas are “sensitive” to most people. Giving because there are so many out there hawking for our money. I mean just watch TV for an hour… there will be at least 10 commercials vying for your cash. Tempting the eye, tastebuds and wishlist, these commercials are done by the best. Then there is the religious side… seems that this is always put in a separate category…almost as if it should be a mystery and that it opposes everyday life. Truth is … that to many it is a mystery… partly by the promotion from the church (s) so you will attend… and partly by public pressure. (Oh … those people…) As church goes… many have made the “mystery of God” a forefront of their messages and only the “preacher” knows… Then we have the lazy that want to be “spoonfed” their understanding of God or the scared that don’t want to know too much because they will be “held responsible”. Yet all the while… the Lord is calling out as a LOVING FATHER to His children… come to Me and listen… I have only good for you… People should read the Bible for themselves so they can “bring something” to church. This went long … so we can look at the “sin” aspect another day.
