Seems like our government is always looking for ways to steal more of our hard earned money. In North Carolina, the state government realized that they are losing revenue (taxes) due to people driving electric and hybrid cars, scooters and the like. Now they want to impose an extra tax on those folks who submitted to the government B.S. about pollution and saving our environment. Live in a manner the government wants, get taxed. Has there ever been a time in recent history when our elected leaders met without trying to figure out a way to get into our pockets? Federal, state, local, it makes no difference. all they want to do is relieve you of YOUR money. At least an armed thief makes his intentions known right up front. Our politicians must not have learned in school about Mother England and the Stamp Act of 1765. George III taxed the colonies on any printed material. The paper had to have an embossed revenue (tax) stamp on it and be produced in London. It had to be paid for in British currency, not colonial money. This tax was on ALL paper products from legal documents to playing cards. The stamp act met with great resistance and was eventually repealed. This soon led to additional taxes on the colonies which was also met with resistance. These taxes were the main cause of the American Revolution. OUr elected officials would do well to review their history and and keep their hands out of my pockets. Abolish the IRS!
