Seen Boyhood on bluray so here is a review: Mason is a 12 year old boy who lives with his older sister and mother after his parents divorce. The film follows him watching grow up after a period of 12 years. The film that took 12 years to make, following the same cast is a bold experiment watching the young cast grow up. Well acted, Patricia Arquette and Ethan Hawke are excellent as Masons parents while newcomer Ellar Coltrane is good as Mason. But it is also a very safe film with a paper thin plot and dare I say it the safest of the best picture nominees I have seen so far. Meaning it will likely win. 7 out of 10.
