Selected by the National Youth Council to attend APEC CEO Summit 2014 and APEC voices of the future (program for youth leaders) in Bejing, China. Not sure if I should take up this offer and here are some hesitations I have. Firstly, I will have to start work later as I dont want to take leave when I just start as it will look very bad on me and is disruptive to my learning. On the other hand, this is a good chance to travel as everything is fully sponsored. The plan looks quite fun like I can visit China space museum and speak to astronauts; visit the Academy of Fine Arts and learn Tajiquan. Furthermore, only five youths are selected to represent Singapore each year. I will get to see Xi Jinping, Vladimir Putin and other APEC country leaders (from far away). However, I have been to Beijing twice already and if I go again, it will be the third time. Also, I can always apply again next year and it may even be held at a cooler location ( though I am not sure if application will be more competitive ). I am very eager to start work as soon as possible, hustle, secure clients and earn as much as I can. The thought of delaying sucks cos every month of delay means I will have about 3.5k less than my classmates. On the other hand, once I start I wont have the luxury of time to do things like this. Which option will you pick if u were me?
