Self-reliance makes you a radical. Most people I encounter, especially online, have an inflated sense of entitlement or leverage, in that they demand control over everything that could possibly affect them. Its a standard fairy tale children are taught in public school that activism actually changes things. Folks, your perception of need is not a mandate for the world at large to supply. The Internet would be a much quieter, saner place if more people understood and accepted as normal their lack of control over things. Instead, we should focus on controlling ourselves.
