Sen. Mary Lanrieu of Louisiana, Democrat (of course) is introducing a bill that mandates (if you can believe this) that insurance companies KEEP people insured under their present policy. Now put yourself in the shoes of people running these ins. companies...lets say the CEO, or the IT people, or the code writers to implement things that have already been eliminated (off the books) because the Democrats law, the way it was written, mandated these policies be cancelled. Now, they say about 5M people are cancelled so far because the law said this had to happen. Now Landrieu and the Dems come back and whiplash their mandate and tell the mean old ins. companies they have to keep people ...and plans....that are already cancelled, off the books. Ok to Delete?....press Enter. Poof gone. Now reverse that. We mandate it. Unbelievable ! If the Dems do this theyll have the Reps in a corner to vote for this whipsaw action or be in the corner with the mean old ins. companies...the companies that cancelled all those poor people. How dare they !! How mean !! Get those ins. companies ! Make em pay ! Yeah , drive them to the point they are making no money because they have all that money, and we, the govt have the power. Wait......how are we going to get a broke, bankrupt ins. company to pay our claims? Never mind all that -- lets bust em , get em. Mean old geezers !
