Senate bill doubles spending on veterans health. Spending could double in 3 years under the bill which passed overwhelming; it would add some $35B (over 3 yrs) to the $44B already being spent annually by the government on medical care for veterans. The bill was introduced by Sen. McCain (R-Ariz.) and 3 other GOP senators and would allow veterans more flexibility to see a private doctor if they were forced to wait too long for an appointment at a VA hospital or clinic. bit.ly/1p35Z3O
