Senator Barbara Boxer of California says she won’t seek re-election in 2016. The NY Times article suggests, its tough for a Republican to get elected to high office in California. It turns out that since 1943 Republicans have held the governorship for 47 years while Democrats have held it for only 23 years. There has been a similar record for California US Senators, who dont get term limited out. It is an illusion that a Republican cannot get elected to high office in California. So this could be a great opportunity for an aspiring liberty candidate in California. Nevertheless, the US Senate will be better off without Ms Boxer.
