Senegal name Squad to Face Uganda Senegal coach Alain Giresse unveiled his squad to face Uganda in the 2014 World Cup qualifier on September 7 in Marrakech, Morocco, without his two top strikers Papiss Cisse and Demba Ba. The Frenchman said he decided to drop the Chelsea forward following his limited playing time at Stamford Bridge while the Newcastle player is suspended for bagging two yellow cards. Initially announced to have opted for the Teranga Lions, AC Milan’s Mbaye Niang declined the invitation and was pulled out of the group, the coach said. The squad is made up of essentially the team that held Zambia to a 1-1 draw this month in a Paris friendly. Senegal, who are leaders of Group J with 9 points, need just a draw to scale through to the third round of the qualifying while second-placed Uganda with 8 points will have to win to snatch the group’s berth. However, Senegal will be playing far from home in Marrakech following Caf’s ban on their home ground of Sedar Senghor Stadium in Dakar.
