Senior Brit in TX needs a home! NBRAN is taking this dog into their foster program, but he needs a foster home to go to. He has had a rough couple of years after losing his owner. Please help this guy live out the rest of his life in comfort and being loved. Here is the info from the kind lady that has him now. She needs him to go to a foster home as soon as possible so she can continue to foster for the local animal shelter. THANK YOU!!! I am a volunteer foster mom for the Nacogdoches Animal Shelter in Texas. I recently got a Brittany from a distant friend, now this Britt was not just any Britt. He belonged to a man (David) that was his everything, Doc (Brittany) went everywhere David went, work, hunting, walking in the woods. Davids wife is a poodle person, well David died a couple of years back and myself and my husband went to Davids funeral and he had made his final plans way ahead of time and Doc was to be present at his funeral. When we saw Doc then he looked great!!!! I got a message from her about two weeks ago asking If we could take Doc, she was having to downsize to an apartment and Doc would not be happy. After talking it over with the hubby we decided to go and get him and find him the loving home he deserves, we met her half way between where we both live at a gas station. When she got Doc out of the car my mouth hit the pavement, I could not believe what I was seeing, he had hardly no hair on his body, covered in fleas. He looked just miserable, now remember I have not seen him in a couple of years and he ran right to me. I started asking her questions about his condition and she claimed the vet sprayed him with something and that all of his skin condition happened in a week or so. I knew that was not the truth, but I kept my cool and continued with my questions, he has not been on flea treatment, no heartworm treatment. I had finally heard all I needed to hear and told Doc to load up for which he leaped right up in the back seat of the truck. I have since had him seen by a vet here in Nacogdoches, and he has a severe allergy going on which has turned into a secondary infection of some sort. He is on antibiotics and special shampoo and tested negative for heart worms. He is beginning to look lots better. All of this leads to ask if you know of someone that can take Doc and let him live out the rest of his life in peace. Doc is 11 years old and David got him when he was weaned from his Mom, and this poor baby is just breaking my heart. I cannot even imagine what he thinks, the only people he knew to be his care taker is gone.
