Sent in Not a vent but a question. Weve fallen into financial hard times and cannot afford our vehicle anymore. We want to voluntary turn it in and are aware it will be consider a voluntary repossession. Its in my husbands name and hes in the Army. We called the bank and told them our situation and they informed us that after they resale it that we will be responsible for remaining balance. (we are aware of that.) But she then added that if we dont pay it that they will go through legal actions and then to my husbands chain of command. Has anyone dealt with this? Is it true they can sue us and go to my husbands chain of command? We dont mind paying them the balance but we cant pay the current car payment theyre asking for to pay off the remaining balance on the vehicle. Sorry its so long... Just need advice.
