Sept. 10, 2014 Day 10 of my 30th Anniversary Month Challenge I - TopicsExpress

Sept. 10, 2014 Day 10 of my 30th Anniversary Month Challenge I would like to backtrack just a bit to our honeymoon. No, Im not going to give up any juicy details so relax. If you recall we drove over 12hrs the day after our wedding in pretty much a steady downpour. A Hurricane had just spent the previous week hammering the east coast including sitting on our honeymoon island destination of Oak Island, North Carolina for a record setting 18hrs. We drove late into the night and arrived exhausted. The back deck door to our beach front condo has blown in and the living room area was like a beach with sand everywhere. WOW! Anyway the first thing the next morning we hear commotion and voices coming from the living room and deck area as a restoration crew was already on the scene. They were notified by the owners via the real estate company and were given keys let them selves in and go to work. Kinda risky doing that to a couple on their honeymoon. Just sayin!!.... LOL. Luckily no one was too surprised or embarrassed. ;) We spent an awesome week there then headed down to Florida. Your first time going that far south. I remember having to pull over to the side of the road at one point so you could jump out and steal some cotton from a farmers field. You had never seen it growing like that before. We still have the cotton on display in a jar at the house. Your first felony as a married woman.......LOL We hung out a few days in Daytona Beach then headed over to Clearwater. I remember having breakfast that one morning in a dinner when a woman screamed cause there was a 2 long Palmetto Bug on her leg. They look just like a giant cockroach. The waitress comes running over and asked what was wrong. She then just laughed and said ha, you folks arent from around here are ya? , and walked away laughing. The look on your face was priceless. So finally after 2wks we were headed home. Pretty awesome how we spent 2wks out on the road for only $900 which is what we got in cash from our wedding. Wish we could do that now. Our last night was at a hotel in the Smokey Mountains area. We didnt stop till real late and the hotel was booked. I remember the clerk noticed our shiny new wedding rings and asked if we were on our honeymoon. We told him yeah, it was our last night. He gave us the one remaining room which was the Presidential Suite at a regular room price. Good deal!! Got home the next day and thus started a new chapter of our lives together that has so far lasted these 30yrs. Love ya and hope for 30 more.
