Sept. 26th, 2013 ~ Devotion # 1 If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself. Now godliness with contentment is great gain. 1 Timothy 6:3-6 Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge-- by professing it some have strayed concerning the faith. Grace be with you. Amen. 1 Timothy 6: 20-21 I chat online a lot in a secular site. With my Job being at home 24/7 care giving , Im not able to get out as much as most people so I have to resort to the internet to have conversations with people. I like chatting and recently I have been in a chat room called religion. It is mostly a room where Atheists, Muslims, and Christians duke it out. They argue over who is right. It doesn’t bother me, it just shows me that “religion” is NOT the way to go. I do not engage in such arguments, I know what Being a “Child of God” (some call it Christianity) is really about. It is relationship with Father Creator, Jesus our Lord and Savior, and The Holy Spirit. All 3 give intimate, personal relationship with me in their own unique way. I can’t possibly explain my relationship with non believers because its so unique that you have to willingly believe in all three to be able to even have relationship with them in the first place. Most religious people do not have this intimacy with the trinity. All three have whispered to me and told me to stop trying to convince people. It is not my job to argue, debate the Word of God, nor the relationship I have with all three persons. It is simply in my faith that their Love proves them to be true. I need to be like Jesus and allow people their own perspective but most of all their own choices. With me being a Child of God, I can feel sorry for them that do not have relations with all three persons, but I will not engage in trying to argue or debate my truth and my clarity onto others. It’s wrong. Jesus invited people to listen to what He had to say. He never forced Himself onto anyone. In all truth, salvation will not come to a person who is forced to believe. Forced believing comes in the ways of childhood, when a parent raises a child in a certain religion and forces them to go to church or meetings and so forth. As the child grows older, they will choose to follow what they were introduced to willingly, because its all they have ever known. There is those that God Himself convicts within their hearts to soul search so to speak. It’s rare but its possible. Each person on this earth has the choice and rights to believe what they choose. What they do not have a right to do is force any of their perspectives or beliefs onto another person. This can cause great hurt among people. God called me to LOVE THY NEIGHBOR. He didn’t call me to FORCE MY BELIEFS upon my neighbor. It is simply within loving your Neighbor that they will see God exists within your life and begin to question their own religion. I choose relationships not religions. Thanks for reading, Tracee
