September 11 2001 can you remember what you were doing that day? I CAN........... On that day I woke at around 5:45 am ,fixed my coffee pot, put my TV on channel 10 to watch the morning news, woke my kids,cooked their breakfast and got them ready for school.Walked them the two blocks to school.Returned home began clean up from the morning rush.Grabbed me a bathroom break then while gettin a cup of coffee I heard the alert tone come over my TV.And thought to my self why the sky is clear no storms coming.Went on and as I listen I dropped my full coffee cup to the floor and began crying un controllably as I watched in horror as many lives were taken all over our great country as our country was so viciously attacked.I picked up the phone and called my momma Nancy Moore cause thats what I do when I am scared sad or angry and at that very moment I was all of those.Still crying I said mom turn on the news you have got to see this.After we talked bout it briefly we got off the phone I went to my son Christopher Browns room picked him up and held him as tight as i could(think i nearly smothered him)and For what reason I do not know but I went to the school at 10:15am and picked my children James Brown and Donna Jo Brown up as I felt I needed them close to me.We sat there as I held them all closer and tighter then i had ever. My heart broke that day for all the lives that were lost.But at the same time I felt such pride in our country for the strength we had to band together as one.The men and women of our military, our firefighters,and our police officers and their families that made the ultimate sacrifice that day and the days,months and years to follow. On that day life as we knew it had been altered our great nation was under attack.And I watched as many more american lives were lost.For the rest of my life I will remember that day.Will you? And I will always be thankful for those who made the ultimate sacrifice for each and every one of us.
