September 14th 2014: Well last night started off on a slippery - TopicsExpress

September 14th 2014: Well last night started off on a slippery slope... on arrival at the train station Lauras foot wear gave way, but being the resourceful people we are luckily there happened to be a convenient store where copious amounts of chewing gum was bought for a quick fix to carry us through the night.... Thankfully we had a 30 minute train ride to give time for the chewing gum to fix onto the shoe. Unaware we were going into rush hour traffic the underground was anything but pleasant. Similar going to the pits of hell. 1 hour later we finally arrive at Notting hill gate and proceed to walk to the venue. Set up for the night was underway and luckily we got there in time to help out in a small way. We then retired to the mitre pub down the road for a quick beverage before the show started at 7pm so they said... they lied... The show commenced about 7.30 a 1/4 to 8 roughly and we had the privilege of obtaining front row seats with sneaky presecco in hand. Laura launched herself up to take some images of the night and the actual show lasted about 20minutes to my dismay.... if you dont believe me there is pictures to prove of my face... Laura started talking to this guy who I ended up ranting to, who turned out to be a leading performance coach, executive mentor, international speaker and prolific writer, mind you with a camera dangling around his head none of that showed. Lovely man all the same who gave us a signed copy of his book GET THE LIFE YOU LOVE AND LIVE IT... which is fairly apt as this is what we are on our mission to do. Laura gave him plenty of material for a sequel. In fact she could of written his first book. As I said to my friend Carmel when we went to see the Dali Lama, He didnt tell me anything I didnt know already. When we were outside we over heard the fakest Irish accent, It sounded like somebody from Darby Ogill and the little people. It was even funnier the fact models were showing Laura there profiles in the hope of gaining some employment.... good luck there lads hahaha. One thing I learnt about the night is how fickle and false the fashion industry is, but proud to have my designs feature in the show. On a lighter note when we got back to St Pancres starving Marvin we devoured two of the biggest burgers they had whilst onlookers watched in jealousy and boy did we not care in the slightest. Had a nice chat with a guy coming back from a wedding who kept trying to give Laura his seat on the train back to St Albans, and Laura being stubborn stayed standing even though Catherine kept insisting on her to sit beside a robust lady... All in all a good night was had and man were we wrecked when we got back, the shoe just about made it but was duly dumped this morning... Stay tuned for more of Catherine and Lauras wacky adventures...
