September 17, 2014, was a historical day for dog owners. More than 500 Michigan residents convened on the lawn of the state Capitol in Lansing to call on lawmakers to introduce and pass a bill banning breed discrimination. We are happy to report that our policymakers heard us! We were approached by several legislators who would like to receive our bill. As we work through this next stage, please remember that our work is not done. We will need each and every one of you to speak to your legislators and ask for their vote, once we have a bill number.
