September 21, 2013 St. Matthew, Apostle and Evangelist Saturday, 24th Week in Ordinary Time Lord, You transformed St. Matthew from a self-serving tax collector to a God-serving apostle. As I acknowledge my sinfulness before You, help me to leave my former ways behind, cling to You and strive to live a life worthy of my calling. Grant me the same grace to follow You obediently without calculating the cost or hesitating because of my unworthiness. Elevate my thoughts to a supernatural plane that I may see things from Your perspective and learn to judge everything in my life through the prism of faith. Help me to remain in Your will especially when the decisions I make are meant to strengthen and purify me through trials. Free me from all impediments and help me to respond promptly to Your call to holiness as I lay out the red carpet to welcome Your divine presence into my heart.
