September 24, 2012 SOME SOMBER SLEEP By: Gerard Melecio Stay so still, as you silently sleep. The Dark, like dusk, divine as it is deep. Rest your rantings. Your ravings, relinquish; Away with all angst, anger and anguish. Calm and Comfort, caress my cheek. Solemn as slumber, sweet as sleep; Patiently praying, pleading Purpose, Pardon, and Peace. To him whose heaven is holy, happiness is his. Specks that sparkle star studded skies, Hovering higher than the highest of heights. Exceeding ether, escaping Earth to eternity, From suns to solar systems, somewhere in a soliloquy. Parading people pause to pass platonic places; Foes, fiends, friends flash frigid frivolous faces… Vile vexing vixens, vicious vanishing vampires… Wond’ring in a world of worries, wishes and wiles. Dreams are doorways into the dimension of Death, Beyond burden and bounds of bodily breadth. Soul-seeking spirits soaring seamless space, The tangible Truth twisted untraced. Live then, like lions leading the lands. Love, deeply as devotion demands. Learn, curiously as children comprehends. Laugh long to last a lifetime’s length. Ω * * * * *
