September is here!!! For those who are new, Welcome to Prodigy Talent, we are very excited to have you be a part of our wonderful team. For those who have been with us for a while, keep on pushing and working hard. Perseverance does pay off, and a few of our clients have found that out over these last few weeks by landing some HUGE national commercials. So congrats to you guys. Now lets talk Business!!! What are you guys doing to market yourself? Are you just sitting around waiting and thinking that since you have a Manager or an Agent now, that you are going to become the next Audrey Hepburn or the next Denzel Washington? If this was your plan, well my friends, you are way off path. You have to work every day on your craft. Whether your an actor or a professional athlete. Its all the same. If you want to be the best, you have to strive for the best. Get into classes, take workshops, Update photos from 1994, get in front of producers, GO to auditions that you might not be excited for because of the low Pay rate or the far location, Guys and gals, YOU NEVER KNOW who could be sitting in at that audition, or who might be producing or directing that certain commercial that you decided to skip because it was just not the perfect fit into your schedule. Let your face be seen PEOPLE. What goals have you written down for the upcoming month or year? Have you met them? Have you written down goals for yourself? Future plans, stepping stones, etc? I personally write down goals constantly. And I go back to that notebook constantly and check off my achievements, or highlight my faults or failures. This will help you in any aspects in life, I can promise you that. WEIGH out the pros and cons of your day job, or your rocky relationship that might possibly be holding you back from an amazing career as a talented actor or actress. These things are all just simple minor things that allows you to change or take a step back to really evaluate your goals, and I promise if you do just that, you will see many changes in your life/careers. Time Management Just recently , Chris and I went to a workshop and met some great actors. It was Chris and I along with two (2) other agencies there to meet actors. One of the other agents asked the 20 actors in the room “How many hours a week are you spending on your career?” As you know we have always treated you like a business and hearing it that plainly asked was really profound to both of us. So, I am asking you; How many hours are you spending on your business every week? Do you have POSTED office hours where you work on your career? Do you keep a “to-do list” or a “task list” for your career? Do you need help with figuring that out? ASK US!! We are a team WITH YOU and we want to see you succeed! Housekeeping stuff What would a monthly letter be without a reminder about your profiles? Did you take the 2 hours this month to update your profile on LA Casting? What about the one on Casting Frontier? Is your IMDB page up to date? We rely HUGE on your profiles. NOTHING is more frustrating when you have EXPERT on basket-weaving and we call you up to send you in and you can’t AT ALL. BE HONEST and BE COMPLETE in your profile. I promise you that the profiles that are 100% up to date are the people who go out the most. Okay guys, have a great month, lets book some amazing roles this month and together as a team build some amazing opportunities.!!! All the best, Miles Bradshaw Prodigy Talent Los Angeles, CA (323) 250-2403
