The aim will be to give residents of the region a look at “the crown jewel of regional tourism which will soon become a reality.” During September they will start the channelling work and electrification, along with the infrastructure of roads and highways that will lead tourists and visitors to the hotels and leisure center attractions at Paramount. Premursa has bid 70% of the total construction for the Park, LifeStyle Center and shopping complex. The company owned by Jesus Samper is studying all the bids this month, announcing in September the name of the contractor that will perform the work. Among the companies involved would be Dragados, Fomento de Construcciones y Contractors, OHL, Ferrovial, as Samper himself said during the presentation at Murcia last May 10. Alberto Cruz said the work could begin in the same month of September 2013, for which the city of Alhama would have to “accelerate” its full calendar probably adding a resit. Although the he did not list any prospective investors names for the park, Premursa own financial structure ensured that “the project will go forward without interruption until the end”. The date of its opening remains unchanged: for 2015. The Official Bulletin of the Region of Murcia (Borm) released the 25th of this month the document final approval of the revised Special Plan Theme Park Management, modified to suit the recommendations of several institutions. The promoter Jesús Samper was last week accompanying Michael Bartok, executive vice president of Paramount Licensing in a quick tour of the region, as anticipated both went to St. Stephen to meet President Ramón Luis Valcárcel. The meeting was also attended Pedro Alberto Cruz. Together they visited the site of Paramount in Alhama and the facilities at Corvera International Airport. The latest forecasts from the Institute of Tourism is that the new airport will in fact double the number of passengers arriving in the region of Murcia. With only weeks to go until the start of the Paramount project anticipation is high all around the region. It will be an exciting few weeks as this long awaited project gets under way.
