***Serious question alert Why are African American students perfoming academically so far behind their peers of other cultures? As I complete my research for my doctorate degree, I am appalled at how far behind our Black kids are when it comes to academic acheivement, certainly the culture or ethnicity of a person does not make one smarter. However, the research consistently says that student academic sucess ranks respectively in this order: Asian students, White students, Hispanic Students, African American students......why? what is the problem? I want to know what you think before I give my opinion.
