Serious question for single moms although anyone can give their opinion: Lets say before, or even in the beginning, of having a child, you and your man, the father of the child, hate each other. Lets say he cheated on you/you on him, or you thought having the baby would keep him around only to drive him away thus making you bitter, etc... The child gets older, and the father is still not around. Maybe phone calls here and there or attempted visits, but no real presence. As the child gets even older, lets 18-20, they find contact with their dad, and they both have this awesome close relationship with each other. They become so close with the father, that he becomes the new option to hang out with, or go to on the holidays, or meeting his side of the family. The question: as a single mother, who has taken care of this child for so many years, only for he/she to establish this close quick connection to a man who wasnt there for their entire youth, could you easily accept that or would you be extremely butthurt over it? Why? If you do have resentment, could you understand that childs subconscious need/desire to connect with their dad? Please no politically correct answers, I want raw truth. Regardless of your answer, I will not allow you to be bashed by anyone else.
