Sermon Title: The Lion, The Eagle, The Ox And The Man Scriptural Reference: Genesis 1:1-2, Job 38:4-7, Isaiah 14:12, Revelation 12:7, Ezekiel 28:14, 1:5-6,10, Isaiah 6:6 God took His time to design and beautifully create the Earth for a peaceful habitation and blessing for man. In spite of all the beauty and magnificence of the earth the devil still attacked Gods creation. The devil worked and is still working hard to distort the purposes and plans of God for man. As believers we must be vigilant because the devil is in the business of destroying what God has created. It takes only the blood of Jesus to overcome the devil and all his cohorts. God created man in the way He created angels. In the bible, man is sometimes referred to as an angel (Hebrews 13:2). Angels are deployed to give assistance/help so anyone God uses to bring assistance, help or blessing to you is an angel. In Ezekiel 1:5,6,10 the bible teaches us about angels. Angels have four faces; the face of a man, of an ox, of an eagle and the face of a lion. The devil who was Lucifer was an anointed cherub/angel but lost his place in heaven because of disobedience and pride. As believers we must be careful not to live a life of disobedience and pride because it will lead to our downfall and destruction. If man was made like angels then man has four faces that is to say man has the power to operate in the four distinct characteristics of angels. The Four Faces Of The Devil(A Fallen Angel) 1. The Devil As A Lion - II Timothy 4:17, I Peter 5:8 The devil is depicted as a lion because he operates and has the characteristics of a lion. The anointing of God upon Samson and David caused them to defeat and overpower lions. 2. The Devil As An Eagle - Ephesians 2:2 The devil is known as the king of the air just as that eagle is known as the king of the air. The eagle is a bird that soars high. It is always in the air and only comes to the ground to feed. 3. The Devil As An Ox - Isaiah 10:27 The ox is an animal that is yoked for the purpose of ploughing and tilling of the ground. The ox is symbolic of a burden-bearer. The ox is a strong animal but is patient to be used to fulfil a plan. The devil can be patient till he achieves his wicked plans. 4. The Devil As A Man - Revelation 13:18, Acts 5:3 The devil operates as a man through man by manipulating and possessing man to do his purposes. Examples of demonic operations in man are armed robbery, rape, fornication, etc. Men who perpetrate evil without mercy are men operating with the power and influence of the devil. As believers we must be vigilant in our relationships because the devil can come in the form of a man. It isnt everyone in church who is a Christian.
