Servers beware.. I have waitressed for 12 years locally on the south shore, recently the place I work ( which will remain nameless) complied with a new irs policy of not adding gratuity to larger parties of 6 or more. Every large party is a gamble, and you basically are hoping hey at least know how to tip. For those who dont know, servers make 2.63/hr, we depend on tips to survive, thats our paycheck. At any rate, I waited on a party of 8 last night, and I wS the victim of this ridiculous new trend where instead of leaving a monetary amount on the tip line of a credit card slip the person write tip-toeing in my Jordans. The bill was 180$ and I received .2 cents for a tip. Im a mom of a 2 year old trying to make my sons Christmas special, shit like that is totally unnecessary, especially around the holidays. I had no clue people did this, so I was shocked to see it. Im attaching a couple photos, apparently this tip toeing in my Jordans is from a song by some jerk named Riff raff. The photos I found in an article about people doing this online. Spreading the word to my fellow industry folks. And if you are a person who does this, you are a low life, shit head.
