Service of Advent Lessons and Carols This year we celebrate our twenty-ninth annual Service of Advent Lessons and Carols at 11 am on December 7th, the Second Sunday of Advent. Readings from the Old Testament foretell the coming of the Messiah, and passages from the Gospel describe the wondrous birth of Christ. These Scriptures alternate with carols old and new, traditional and contemporary, in a beautiful candlelight liturgy. Our Children’s, Youth, Chancel, and Handbell Choirs with soloists join in leading the service. This is a marvelous opportunity for our church family to experience an Advent journey together, gathered for a single, combined worship service at which we remember God’s great promises of salvation, and the fulfillment of those promises in Jesus Christ.
